i-Tone: is a surface treatment developed in Mohawk Papers' labs to offer optimized performance of ElectroInk on the HP Indigo press. i-Tone papers guarantee exceptionally consistent HP ElectroInk transfer and adhesion, resulting in better performance, higher productivity, and reduced cost.
Image setter: In computer imaging, a device that
outputs type line art and photos in position on

Imposition:
The arranging of pages in a press form to ensure the
correct order after the printed sheet is folded and
trimmed.
Impression:
In printing, the pressure of type, plate or blanket as
it comes in contact with the paper.
Impression cylinder: In printing, the cylinder on a printing
press against which the paper picks up the impression
from the inked plate in direct printing, or the blanket
in offset printing.
Ink fountain: In printing presses, the device which
stores and supplies ink to the inking rollers.
Insert: A
printed piece prepared for insertion in to a publication
or other printed piece.
Integrated Mill: A production plant combining both wood pulping and paper manufacture.
Inxwell: Inxwell is a patented process that dramatically improves the ink holdout and opacity of uncoated papers. The Inxwell treatment is applied in very small quantities, through a unique, proprietary process. This allows Inxwell-treated papers to retain the natural feel of premium uncoated papers - while achieving high ink holdout for crisp dot definition. Ink and toner sit on top of the sheet for better colour, greater detail, and outstanding performance in all popular printing.
IR Coating/Drying: The use of infrared rays to dry
an ink film, often used on the last deck of a multi
colour press to aply a coating that enhances gloss,
provides a high level of protection and gives a "dry"
result off the machine.
