Constructed from polypropylene, Yupo is an advanced synthetic paper with a reputation for delivering extreme tear, and water resistance characteristics. 
New Ultra Yupo shows drying times similar to natural paper when used in combination with oxidizing inks, and to show off the capabilities of the new Ultra Yupo, BJBall Papers have hit the market with this futuristically adorned promotional folder.

Designed by Brown Dog Design in Auckland, the folder contains several printed pieces, highlighting common applications for the grade, in particular how well the stock responds to full ink coverage as well as foiling and spot UV.

Ultra Yupo has been printed extensively using conventional offset process in New Zealand, and for printers wanting to conduct their own trials (as press chemistry will vary from press to press) the main tip is to run with the water levels as low as possible.

A few features to remember about Ultra Yupo are:

Faster Drying Times - with an advanced top coat (or primer), which allows for some penetration of ink, Ultra Yupo has a fast drying characteristic. 
In the past, printers would have to wait for up to two days before printing the other side of the stock, now with new Ultra Yupo it's possible to have 400% ink coverage, and be  printing the other side within 5-6 hours when using oxidysing inks.

Less Dot Gain - With more of a stain finish, and primer, the ink dot does not feather as much, resulting in sharper images and truer colours.

Greater tear resistance - compared with other brands in the market, Ultra Yupo is an Ultra strong performer
